This was easily one of my favorite parts of our trip. I'm a massive pride and prejudice (2005 obvi) fan so touring the fictional Pemberley was unreal. For just slightly more than general admission, the private tour gets you a 3 hour guided tour of the house and gardens in groups no larger than 5.
After parking ( included in the ticket) we met our guide using the same entrance as everyone else. We started with a tour of the house before breaking for lunch. There are 3 places to get food on site but you can also bring food and picnic in the park land. Following lunch we met back up with our guide for a golf cart tour of the grounds.
One of my favorite parts and something I didn't know we'd get to do was right before lunch. We joined the other private tour at our start time and entered a door off the orangery which lead to an old theater and a spiral staircase up to the very top of the belvedere.
If your a fan of pride and prejudice or English manor homes the private tour is 100% the move when visiting Chatsworth.
