Date Visited : Nov 2024 | Opening Times: Varies | Cost: $65 | Website

Located: Washington, DC, USA

A national place of worship was included in Pierre L'Enfant's plan for the city but the first stone for this cathedral wasn't laid until 1907. Designed in a classic gothic style the final stone was laid in 1990.

Officially know as the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul it is a part of the Episcopal Church and receives no direct support from the the federal government nor any national church body.

The Angles and Monsters tour takes visitors out on the parapets to come face to face with the "monsters" of the cathedral ( the gargoyles and grotesques ) and then up to the roof to see the angles.

There is also a bell tower only climb and a combination climb!
