Date Visited: October 2025 | Opening Times: 10:00 - 18:00 | Cost: Free | Website

Located: London, England

Located in Trafalgar Square, the main entrance is through the recently re-opened Sainsbury wing. Some things to note, you can only bring in small umbrellas, larger umbrellas along with traditional large bags must be checked and there is a per-item fee. Additionally paper maps must be purchased so if you don't want to grab a map find one of the large wall maps to take a photo to help navigate the museum.

Its grouped by era and each era is color coded on the map. There are museum attendants in each gallery wearing all black that are a wealth of art history knowledge so definitely ask them a question or two.

The museum houses a few pretty popular paintings like a DaVinci Sketch, a few Vermeers, and some Van Goghs all of which you can expect a large crowd in front of. Be patience and swap places with people exiting the melee.

The gift shop has some of my favorite pieces in stuffed animals designed after famous works or art or artists. I want to go back and buy them all!

I'd like to go again and spend more time or take a tour. On the day we went it was raining and a few foreign countries holiday periods so it was PACKED which I found a little overwhelming but that's because I don't love crowds.
